Sometimes in life, you have to get out of your comfort zone.

For some people, that means finally working up the courage to ask their cute coworker to dinner. For others it means working up the nerve to ride the new roller coaster at Six Flags. Or maybe it’s finding the inner-strength to go back to school.

What gets you out of your comfort zone? Is it a trip to the dentist’s office?

A few years back there was a reality show on Fox that offered a person an obscene amount of money to have his teeth cleaned. He couldn’t do it, he was too scared of the dentist. We get it. He was simply one of millions of Americans who suffers from dental phobia or dental anxiety.

At Sanders Family Dental, we want to put a trip to dentist’s office squarely in your comfort zone. We don’t want fear to cost you your smile, or cause any damage to your teeth. It’s a lot easier to feel confident and smile when you have a mouthful of healthy teeth.

We have designed our dental office to be completely comfortable for even the most nervous patients. We have a friendly, knowledgeable staff and a range of comfort amenities to ease your fears. In today’s post, we’re going to give you three important reasons to visit our office even if it’s something you’ve been avoiding due to fear.

Reason #1: Avoiding the Dentist’s Office Can Cost You Time and Money

We see dozens of patients every year who have avoided dental work due to fear. Often times they require far more restorative work than a person who regularly visits our office. That costs them time and money.

Take a small problem like a cavity. Normally we can repair a cavity with a quick and routine dental filling. But if that cavity is not treated, it will continue to decay and can become infected. Instead of a filling, we might have to place a dental crown or perform a root canal to repair the damage. The decay can get so bad that we have no choice but to extract the tooth.

But all of that can be avoided with routine dental work. The American Dental Association recommends visiting the dentist every six months. During a routine appointment we’ll examine your teeth so we can spot any early signs of decay. Early treatment is not only faster than restorative treatment, it’s far more affordable as well.

Reason #2: We Offer Dental Sedation to Calm Your Nerves

We offer three types of dental sedation to help you relax during your dental treatment. Our most popular option is nitrous oxide sedation. This form of sedation is completely safe for patients of all ages, and we offer it for all treatments we perform at our office. Commonly called laughing gas, you simply breathe in the sedative gas and relax. There’s no side-effects or lingering grogginess.

We also offer oral dental sedation. This is a great choice for patients with a higher level of nervousness, or patients who need to undergo longer treatments. You simply ingest a prescription medication in pill form before your appointment. Then you relax while we repair your smile.

We are also one of the few offices in the area to offer IV sedation. This is the highest level of sedation possible.Even the most nervous patient can get the dental work they need thanks to dental sedation!

Reason #3: We Go The Extra Mile to Make You Comfortable

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will always answer any questions you have before, during, or after your treatment. We’ll never lecture you even if its been decades since you visited the dentist. We’re simply happy that you’re here now and getting the treatment you need.

We also offer private treatments and procedures. Sometimes this can help a nervous patient relax and feel more comfortable. We can also schedule you a longer appointment if you need to have the treatments broken up into chunks. Sometimes a break or three is all a patient needs to feel comfortable during your treatment. Whatever you need to feel comfortable, we’ll do our very best to provide.
